Description

The V-TAC 5 kW three-phase hybrid solar inverter SUN-5K-SG05LP3-EU-SM2 is designed to work with solar panel systems, the utility grid and low-voltage battery energy storage systems. The model has 2 MPPT trackers and supports lead-acid and lithium-ion batteries with a voltage of 40–60 V.

The rated AC input/output active power is 5 kW, while the maximum AC apparent power is 5.5 kVA. The maximum PV input power is 8 kW, the maximum PV input voltage is 800 V, the MPPT operating range is 200–650 V and the rated PV input voltage is 550 V.

The maximum battery charge and discharge current for this 5 kW model is 120 A. For lithium-ion batteries, the inverter automatically adapts to the battery's BMS.

The inverter provides a 100% unbalanced three-phase output, supporting up to 50% of the rated power on each phase. Up to 10 inverters can be connected in parallel for both on-grid and off-grid operation. It also supports AC coupling for retrofitting existing solar systems, multiple batteries connected in parallel, six programmable battery charge and discharge time periods, and energy storage from a diesel generator.

The maximum efficiency is 97.6%, the European efficiency is 97.0%, and the MPPT efficiency exceeds 99%. The IP65 protection rating provides protection against dust and water ingress. The operating temperature range is -40 to +60 °C, with power derating at temperatures above +45 °C.

The inverter has integrated protection against DC reverse polarity, AC overcurrent, AC overvoltage, short circuit and overheating, as well as insulation resistance, residual current and DC component monitoring. It features a built-in DC switch and anti-islanding protection.

The housing measures 386 × 660 × 250 mm and weighs 35.2 kg. Warranty: 10 years.
