Touch Sensor for Lighting Control

The V-TAC VT-8165 is a touch sensor for contactless lighting control, designed for installation behind a wooden or glass surface. Touching the surface where the sensor is located turns the light on, and touching it again turns it off.

Operation through wood or glass

The sensor's detection element is designed to be installed behind a wooden or glass surface that is no more than 40 mm thick. This allows for concealed lighting control without a visible mechanical switch, preserving the visual appearance of furniture or interior surfaces.

LED load up to 600W

The sensor is compatible with LED lighting with a total load of up to 600W. The maximum rated load for other compatible light sources is 1,200W, while the rated current is 6A.

220–240 V Mains Connection

The V-TAC VT-8165 is designed to operate with a 220–240 V AC mains voltage and a frequency of 50/60 Hz. The sensor is connected between the mains power supply and the controlled lighting load in accordance with the manufacturer’s wiring diagram.

Low energy consumption

The sensor's power consumption is less than 0.5 W, ensuring energy-efficient operation even when the sensor is permanently connected to the power grid.

Suitable for furniture and interior lighting

The concealed installation design makes the sensor ideal for controlling LED lighting in kitchen cabinets, cupboards, shelves, countertops, and other interior elements. The sensor element is attached to the inside of a wooden or glass surface, while the power supply unit is mounted separately.

Compact design

The sensor control unit measures 78.2 x 35.5 x 20.4 mm. The white PC housing is compact and suitable for integration into furniture and interior lighting installations.

IP20 protection rating

The IP20 protection rating is intended for use of the sensor in dry indoor environments. The operating temperature range is from -20°C to +50°C.
