The smoke chamber is designed so that there is no chance of contamination affecting detection. A unique circulation mechanism provides an unobstructed field for the optical sensor to quickly identify combustion products in the air.

Ignores cooking vapours and water vapours
The smoke chamber is connected to a dual-spectrum optical sensor with blue and infrared LEDs of different wavelengths. It uses the most reliable real-time detection method by directly measuring the concentration of microparticles in the air. This technology allows FireProtect 2 to detect the size of volatile particles in the enclosure and react only to smoke, ignoring vapour and water vapour.

Carbon monoxide (CO) is colourless, odourless and otherwise invisible without a carbon monoxide detector, so poisoning can occur unnoticed. Even low concentrations can be enough to cause adverse health effects, especially in those with chronic illnesses, pregnant women, the elderly and young children. High levels of exposure can cause irreversible damage or even death in a very short period of time. FireProtect 2 warns of dangerous CO concentrations of 50 ppm before the first signs of poisoning appear. The built-in chemical sensor reacts to low concentrations and can accurately detect CO levels for up to 10 years.

FireProtect 2 is equipped with two A1R thermistors to detect smokeless fire hazards. These give a significant advantage for detecting rapid temperature rise when synthetic materials are burning or a fire starts from smouldering. Thermistors are located outside the enclosure to eliminate life-saving detection delay. So FireProtect 2 is ready to detect a fire as quickly as possible, even if it starts unnoticed.

For residential fire alarm systems, informing people of the fire risk is a priority. FireProtect 2 is equipped with a powerful 85 dB siren to prevent the risk of missing the alarm. The detector uses impossible-to-ignore signals with different patterns to indicate an alarm or event, so it is easy to recognise the nature of the hazard and react accordingly.
