Description

The SmartSolar MPPT 100/50 charge controller harvests energy from solar panels and stores it in batteries. It maximizes the amount of energy harvested by using the latest and fastest technology, as well as smart management, to ensure that the battery is fully charged in the shortest possible time. The device helps maintain battery health and extends its service life.

MPPT, or Maximum Power Point Tracking technology, continuously monitors the voltage and current of the solar panels, ensuring that all available power is utilized and directed toward storage. This advantage is particularly noticeable on partly cloudy days, when light intensity is constantly changing.

Built-in Bluetooth enables remote monitoring and control by connecting the device to a smartphone or other device via VictronConnect. If the system is connected to the Internet via a GX device, the Victron Remote Management (VRM) portal provides access to the MPPT controller’s features anytime, anywhere. VictronConnect and VRM are available free of charge.

The Smart Load Shut-Off feature prevents damage that can result from excessive battery discharge. You can configure the voltage at which SmartSolar disconnects the load, thereby protecting the battery from excessive discharge. SmartSolar attempts to achieve a 100% charge every day. If this is not possible due to poor weather conditions, the device increases the cut-off voltage each day until the desired result is achieved. This feature is called BatteryLife because it helps maintain battery health and extends its service life.

The SmartSolar charge controller can charge even a heavily discharged battery. It can operate with a battery voltage as low as 0 V, provided the cells are not irreversibly sulfated or otherwise damaged.
