2-in-1 Infrared Sensor

The V-TAC VT-8159 is a 2-in-1 infrared sensor for automatically turning lights on and off. The device has two operating modes: contactless control via hand movement and lighting control based on whether a door is opened or closed. You can select the mode using a switch on the sensor housing.

Touchless control via hand gestures

In hand-motion mode, the sensor responds when a hand is brought close to the infrared sensor. Once motion is detected, the light turns on, and the next hand gesture turns it off. This solution allows you to control the lighting without touching a mechanical switch.

Door Opening and Closing Mode

In door mode, the sensor automatically controls the lighting based on the door’s position. When the door is opened more than approximately 5 cm, the light turns on. When the door is closed or the gap narrows to less than approximately 5 cm, the lighting turns off. This is particularly suitable for interior lighting in cabinets, closets, kitchen cabinets, and other furniture.

5–6 cm detection distance

The sensor's nominal detection range is 5–6 cm. Its compact operating range ensures precise, contactless control and reduces the likelihood of accidental activation.

LED load up to 200W

The sensor is designed for LED lighting loads of up to 200W. The maximum rated load for other compatible light sources is up to 500W, while the rated current is 5A.

220–240 V Mains Connection

The V-TAC VT-8159 operates on a 220–240 V AC mains voltage and a 50/60 Hz frequency. The sensor is connected between the mains power supply and the controlled lighting load according to the manufacturer’s wiring diagram.

Compact design

The sensor housing measures just 78.2 x 35.5 x 20.4 mm, making it easy to integrate into furniture, cabinets, and other installations in confined spaces. The housing is made of PC material and is white in color.

IP20 protection rating

The IP20 protection rating specifies that the sensor is intended for use in dry indoor environments. The manufacturer’s instructions specify that the device is intended for indoor use only. The operating temperature range is from -20°C to +50°C.
