The smoke chamber is designed so that there is no possibility of contamination that can affect detection. A unique circulation mechanism provides the optical sensor with an unobstructed field to quickly identify combustion products in the air.

Ignores cooking steam and water vapour
The smoke chamber is connected to a dual-spectrum optical sensor that has blue and infrared LEDs of different wavelengths. It uses the most reliable real-time detection method by directly measuring the concentration of microparticles in the air. This technology allows FireProtect 2 to detect the size of volatile particles in the chamber and react only to smoke, ignoring steam and water vapor.

Carbon monoxide (CO) is colorless, odorless, and otherwise undetectable without a carbon monoxide detector, so poisoning can go unnoticed. Even low concentrations can be enough to adversely affect health, especially for those with chronic illnesses, pregnant women, the elderly, and young children. High-level exposure can cause permanent damage or even death in a very short period of time. FireProtect 2 warns of dangerous CO concentrations of 50 ppm before the first signs of poisoning appear. The built-in chemical sensor responds to low concentrations and can accurately determine CO levels for up to 10 years.

FireProtect 2 is equipped with two class A1R thermistors to detect smokeless fire threats. They provide a significant advantage in detecting rapid temperature increases when synthetic materials burn or fires start from smoldering. Thermistors are located outside the housing to prevent life-saving detection delays. So FireProtect 2 is ready to detect a fire as soon as possible, even if it starts unnoticed.
