The smoke chamber is connected to a dual-spectrum optical sensor that has blue and infrared LEDs of different wavelengths. It uses the most reliable real-time detection method by directly measuring the concentration of microparticles in the air. This technology allows FireProtect 2 to detect the size of volatile particles in the chamber and react only to smoke, ignoring steam and water vapor.
Carbon monoxide (CO) is colorless, odorless, and otherwise undetectable without a carbon monoxide detector, so poisoning can go unnoticed. Even low concentrations can be enough to adversely affect health, especially for those with chronic illnesses, pregnant women, the elderly, and young children. High-level exposure can cause permanent damage or even death in a very short period of time. FireProtect 2 warns of dangerous CO concentrations of 50 ppm before the first signs of poisoning appear.
